Spain, January 31, 2024.
The Group GS Inima, a leader in the water treatment concessions sector based in Madrid, Spain, completed the acquisition of its first renewable energy project with a total capacity of 8,7 MWp, on January 30, 2024. Boco Solar is made up of two photovoltaic power plants located in the city of Quillota, Valparaiso region. Both plants are under the regime of stabilized electricity sale, PGMD.
Boco Solar projects have been in operation and connected since January 2017 and March 2021, and are equipped with First solar and Jinko Solar modules, as well as SMA inverters. In 2023, their output was more than 15,000 MWh, resulting from the implementation of state-of-the-art photovoltaic technology that offers optimal energy yield.
"The acquisition of this project in Chile is an important milestone for GS Inima as it marks the beginning of our expansion in photovoltaic energy and we are confident that, due to its great potential, Chile will become one of our strategic markets in the near future. This new solar energy project aligns perfectly with the goal of GS Inima to efficiently manage resources to contribute to the sustainable development of the communities in which we operate”
With the acquisition of the Boco Solar Company, GS Inima advances firmly in the photovoltaic energy business to become a company focused on the development of projects and with the goal to become Independent Power Producer (IPP), of the solar photovoltaic class in countries with the highest growth potential.
“We are pleased to keep expanding our portfolio with this operation. This new project reaffirms the importance of the Chilean market as a key pillar in our strategy. We currently have an important portfolio of international solar photovoltaic projects under analysis, whose investment we hope to be able to finalize in the coming months and thus also add them to our solar plants for the self-consumption of our water assets. All this aligned with our global commitment to a greener future”
