- GS Inima Brasil has been awarded a 24-year contract to manage wastewater collection and treatment services in 35 municipalities in the state of Espírito Santo, benefiting over 700,000 people.

The State Government of Espírito Santo, CESAN (Companhia Espírito Santense de Saneamento), and the consortium formed by GS Inima Brasil and Forte Ambiental have signed the concession contract for Sanitation Lot A.
This initiative will improve access to wastewater collection and treatment services in 35 municipalities, including Vitória, the state the state capital Vitória, which is located in the south-east of Brazil.
With an investment exceeding 150 million euros, the project includes the construction of 37 new Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs), the expansion of five existing ones, the installation of 46,000 meters of discharge pipes, 75 new pumping stations, and 62,000 new sewer connections, ensuring access to the sanitation system.
The 24-year agreement also includes the establishment of a new company, Espírito Santo Saneamento S.A., that will execute an integrated sanitation plan. This plan aims to universalize the service in the designated areas, and improve the quality of life for over 700,000 people.
The main infrastructure works will be carried out during the first five years to guarantee total coverage, strengthen public health, and protect the environment in the beneficiary communities.

Commitment to Human and Environmental Development
Following the signing of the contract, a 180-day assisted operation will begin. During this period, GS Inima Brasil will map the existing systems, identify operational priorities, and prepare a master plan that is aligned with the contractual objectives.
The project is expected to create of 261 direct jobs during its execution, a figure that could triple during the construction phase, thus boosting the area’s economic and social development.
The group’s subsidiary in Brazil is a leading provider of water and wastewater management solutions in the country thanks to its extensive and consolidated experience in the basic sanitation sector.
