Madrid, April 19, 2022.- Between April 6 and 7, 2022, our subsidiary GS Inima Industrial participated in the Aladyr 2022 International Congress and received the congressmen at the end of the event, in a guided technical visit to Aquapolo Ambiental, the largest reused water production plant for the Industry in Latin America.
The Latin American Association for Desalination and Water Reuse (Aladyr) held the International Congress in person, in São Paulo. The objective was to share high-level information on technological trends in the desalination and water reuse market. With the participation of the National Secretary for Water Security of the Ministry of Regional Development, Sérgio Luiz Soares de Souza Costa, the event brought together 300 participants.
GS Inima Industrial participated in Aladyr 2022 through a technical presentation, the closing panel and a face-to-face and virtual technical visit to the Aquapolo Ambiental plant. The presentation, led by Michel Marne, Head of Operations at Aquapolo Ambiental, focused on “The use of monochloramine for microbiological control in reverse osmosis in the reuse system.”
Likewise, GS Inima Industrial promoted the panel “Water crisis and the challenges of the Brazilian industry”, with José Rodrigues, general director of GS Inima Industrial, Wilson Rodrigues de Melo Júnior, director of the Department of Water Resources and Hydrographic Basin Revitalization of the Ministry of Regional Development, Alexandre Luís Almeida Vilella, regional coordinator of the Environment of the Department of Sustainable Development of Fiesp and João Lins, general director of Cetrel SA
In the State of São Paulo, the annual availability of water/inhabitant is 2.480 m3, but in the ABC Region it is only 130 m3/inhabitant/year.
“The water situation in the ABC region was what drove the creation of the largest reused water production system in the southern hemisphere, the Aquapolo Ambiental project, with the capacity to produce up to 1.000 liters of industrial water per second for the Mauá Petrochemical Complex and other companies in the environment”, José Rodrigues, general director of GS Inima Industrial.
