- The infrastructure is one of the largest desalination plants in Spain and allows the supply for irrigation and drinking water, with a production capacity of 126.000 m3/day.
Spain, July 01, 2024.
The state-owned company Aguas de las Cuencas Mediterráneas (Acuamed) has awarded GS Inima the Operation and Maintenance Service for the desalination plant in Valdelentisco, Murcia, for a period of one year, extendable for a further year. The annual contract value is 3,1 million euros.
With a maximum production of 126.000 m3/day, the plant is a strategic infrastructure for both human consumption and irrigation. The amount of production destined to supply the population is distributed through the pipeline network of the Mancomunidad de Canales del Taibilla (MCT), while agricultural, industrial and livestock uses are carried out through ACUAMED’s own water distribution network.
The contract covers the operation and maintenance of the treatment plant itself, including the electrical connection, pumping tank, and land and marine sections of the intake and discharge pipelines, as well as the tank and pumping to ACUAMED’s irrigation water distribution network.
This new achievement reinforces GS Inima’s position in the Operation and Maintenance of desalination plants in Spain.
