GS Inima, a company specializing in environmental services, has published its 2023 Sustainability Report. This document reinforces its commitment to providing transparent annual updates to its various stakeholders on the progress of its strategic objectives, as well as its economic, social, and environmental performance based on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles.
Throughout 2023, GS Inima has demonstrated its ability to grow consistently despite a challenging global context, achieving a turnover of 349 million euros in revenue, representing an increase of 17% increase compared to the previous year.This growth has been made possible through the company’s geographical and operational diversification, its drive towards a circular economy, and its commitment to renewable energy.
The report, verified by KPMG, has been prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, ensuring that the information is reliable, cmprehensive, and balanced. The application of these standards involves a thorough analysis that identifies the most relevant sustainability issues for stakeholders and assesses their potential impact on the company.
Social impact and governance are also key pillars of the document. Aiming to generate a positive impact in the local communities where it operates, GS Inima, beyond its commercial activities, has promoted environmental awareness and respect through social programs.
In terms of governance, the company implements a variety of policies and procedures related to ethics and regulatory compliance, such as a whistleblower channel, an anti-corruption policy, and a code of ethics, to ensure that all of GS Inima’s stakeholders act in accordance with the company’s principles and values.
Among the most significant milestones of 2023 are the commissioning of the Shuweihat 4 desalination plant in Abu Dhabi, the largest of the group to date, the awarding of the sanitation concession in Santa Cruz das Palmeiras, the optimization of the carbon footprint calculation process, and the achievement of 3 million man-hours worked without accidents during the construction of the Barka V desalination plant in Oman, reflecting the company’s commitment to safety and sustainability.
