Spain, 1st. July, 2025
To mark World Environment Day on 5 June, GS Inima launched the internal campaign âTo Microplastics, Macrosolutionsâ, in line with this year’s global theme of tackling plastic pollution, one of the major environmental challenges of our time.
Throughout June, the campaign was implemented in 18 of the company’s business units, with simultaneous activities taking place in Spain, Brazil, Mexico and Oman. The activities aimed to raise awareness of the urgent need to reduce plastic use, particularly single-use plastics, and to promote accessible, sustainable solutions in daily life.
Activities included open days offering employees, their families and local communities the chance to take part in educational activities, childrenâs games, recycling workshops and tree planting.
More than 450 people -children and adults alike- joined these initiatives, becoming the driving force behind a necessary change that begins with small gestures.
As well as promoting environmental awareness, these events strengthen the bond between the company and its local community, providing opportunities for intergenerational encounters and reinforcing an organizational culture committed to sustainable development.
The activity also presented a valuable opportunity for the youngest children to learn about their parentâs work, while familiarizing themselves with the operation of the water treatment and desalination plants. Through guided tours, they discovered how water is managed and why its care it is important for the planet. Â They were also given a challenge during the day: to spend a whole day without using any plastic products, to make them reflect on their consumption habits.
At GS Inima, we understand that sustainability cannot be approached superficially, but rather requires a deep and coherent rethink of the way we doing things, with commitment, awareness and sensitivity.
These small yet significant actions demonstrate the importance of acting today to create a more balanced and sustainable future. In this future, we are all active participants in the change, especially the new generations, and the protection of water and the environment is a shared priority.
