• All meters will be renewed by devices with remote reading, which will allow to control the consumption from an app.

Madrid, June 2, 2025.

The Town Council of Marina de Cudeyo, in collaboration with Inima Water Services -a company that holds the concession for the integral water cycle and belongs to the GS Inima group, a world leader in sustainable solutions for water management- has launched a pioneering project that will make the municipality the first in Cantabria with 100% of its water meters equipped with remote reading technology.

The agreement includes the replacement of all current meters with the latest generation of smart meters, capable of recording and transmitting water consumption remotely and daily, with total accuracy and without the need for on-site readings.

Smart water, total control from a cell phone without effort

One of the main new features will be the access to a free mobile application, from which residents will be able to check their daily consumption, detect possible leaks or anomalous consumption and compare their usage history. This tool will facilitate a more efficient control of consumption and promote water saving. In addition, the new system will allow earlier detection of faults, eliminate manual meter reading and improve convenience for both users and municipal management.

To facilitate the transition, the City Council and Inima Water Services will launch an information and support campaign that will allow all users to learn how the new system works and take advantage of its benefits from day one.

The deployment of the new meters will begin in the coming weeks in a progressive manner and will be extended over 16 months to cover the entire municipality.

A commitment to innovation and sustainability

The promotion of this project is not only a technological improvement, but reflects a clear commitment of GS Inima to modenize public services and move towards a more efficient and responsible water management.

“This project is a decisive step towards the modernization of public services, aligned with our commitment to sustainability and the improvement of services to citizens”.

Pedro Pérez

Mayor of Marina de Cudeyo

“This project reflects the company’s firm commitment to promote technological solutions that improve efficiency in water management. With smart meters, each resident will be able to detect anomalous consumption and thus save water. It is a tool that not only improves user service, but also contributes to a more sustainable management of such an essential resource as water”.

Francisco Arriola

Production Manager of Inima Water Services

The initiative is part of the extension of the water management contract between the City Council and Inima Water Services, recently extended.

This project positions Marina de Cudeyo as a municipality committed to innovation and sustainability, incorporating technologies that respond to the present and future needs of citizens and the environment.
